Welcome to Ponoka Timbits Learn to Play.  Ponoka Minor Ball has a strong desire to provide all levels of baseball opportunities for athletes, coaches, umpires and parents within the community of Ponoka.

Annual General Meeting / AGM Attendance Discount / Online Registration

Ponoka Minor Ball hosted their 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday January 9th, at 7:00 pm at the Ponoka Moose Hall.  If you were unable to attend and have any questions, please reach out to the President or a Coordinator for the type and level of ball your child is looking to play. Online registrations for Timbits Learn to Play will open on February 8, 2023. Ages (4 to 7 years old)

Players born in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 (if 4 years old before the start of the season).

Program Length

Dates: Usually run from May to June

Days: Mondays & Wednesdays

Time: TBD (Typically 6pm to 7pm)

Fields

Ponoka Elementary School Diamonds (5510-48 Avenue).  The diamonds are located around PES and the surrounding property (between PES, Youth Center, Brick Learning Center, and WCPS Facilities).  There are playgrounds around the diamonds for siblings to play at while their brothers/sisters are playing.

Timbits Learn to Play Registration Fee

$105.00 ($75 Volunteer & $75 Uniform deposits are not needed for Learn to Play)

Parent / Guardian Attendance Required

Learn to Play is not considered a drop-off program.  A parent/guardian must be available at the field for the child at all times.

Coaches Required and Coaching Resources

A Head Coach and Assistant Coach are assigned to each Learn to Play team. Parents are also encouraged to assist the coaches as Parent Helpers.  The Learn to Play Coordinator coordinates coaches' meetings prior to the season starting, allowing coaches to meet each other, go through their equipment bag, review the Rally Cap Package (schedule, rules, format, modifications, etc.) and ask questions.  The PMBA provides Learn to Play coaches with a Timbits Learn to Play manual that provides a variety of skill development drills and games that are age-appropriate.
